Abstract

This paper concerns controlled in-phase synchronization of two mechanically coupled metronomes. A Proportional and Derivative feedback control as well as a feedback linearizing controller are proposed as control laws in order to minimize the synchronization time. Experiments in a laboratory prototype show the feasibility of the proposed control law.
