Abstract
This work describes a method for the production of acetaminophen, using nitric acid supported in a clay montmorillonite type as nitrating agent and hidrazine to carry out the reduction of nitro group. This process presents several advantages: the nitration reaction is highly regioselective towards the p-isomer (yield 90%), the nitrating agent is easy handling, and the environmental problems decrease.
