Abstract

The results of tests carried out at high altitude on a 123 kV transmission line structure (steel lattice) used in the Mexican power system and a rodplane configuration with a sphere at floating potential were presented. The flashover voltage at high altitude of the steel structure used in the 123 kV system was found to be 598 kV. It was observed that flashovers were mainly from the conductor to structure.
