Abstract

In this paper, we present the simulation results of vector speed control of an induction motor. In this case, both the direct and indirect methods were simulated using MATLAB (SIMULINK). In the indirect method, an estimate of the rotor time constant was obtained using an model reference adaptive system (MRAS) in a fuzzy control scheme. The estimation of the rotor flux in the direct method was achieved using the fixed reference model considered in the MRAS. A squirrel cage induction motor model was used, taking the reference coordinates as the rotor magnetic field.
