Abstract

In this present research, sapote mamey fruits were harvested at Jalpa de Méndez, state of Tabasco, Mexico during two years of production (2003-2004). The incidence and severity of the rot originated by the fungus Botryodiplodia theobromae was evaluated. Results showed that in two years of evaluation the incidence of B. theobromae in fruits was closed to 50%. In spite of being affected by this fungus the severity was near to 20%. Botryodiplodia theobromae is a important factor that affect negatively sapote mamey fruit during postharvest in Tabasco, Mexico.
