Abstract

Filtering of images contaminated by Gaussian additive noise has been an active field of image processing. In this paper, we propose a denoising method used in grayscale images. The designed method involves the next steps: Grouping via Block Matching, Filtering via DCT, Threshold, Segmentation, and, finally, postprocessing with Edge Restoration. The evaluation of novel method is performed using objective criteria (PSNR and SSIM) and subjective perception via human vision system.
