Abstract

Concentrations of Fe, Mn, Cu, Zn, Cd, Ni and Pb in common species of zooplankton of the seaward part of the Razdolnaya River estuary, were determined by atom absorption spectrophotometry. Maximal concentrations (per unit of dry mass) were found in adult Sincalanus tenellus and minimal in fish larvae. An important role of chitin in removal of heavy metals from the water column through biosedimentation was noted. -English summary
