Abstract

This work presents the structure of a fuzzy equalizer in VLSI for time variant channels, affected by intersymbol interference (ISI) in presence of additive white gaussian noise (AWGN). The proposed equalizer was designed using techniques in current-mode (analog design) and fuzzy logic, avoiding complicated processes and circuits such as: integrators, adders, multipliers, etc. The necessary circuits to implement the fuzzy system were designed in 0.35 μm CMOS technology. The simulation results show the good performance provided by fuzzy equalizer.
