Abstract

The performance of the forward link for packet data services of a microcellular system based on the cdma2000 standard is evaluated, using static and dynamic simulations. The ideal Manhattan-like street pattern is used so two cell plans are considered: The full- and half-square cell plans. Static simulations are used to obtain capacity plots in terms of code channels as well as the coverage probability for different data rates and radio configurations (RC). Dynamic simulations are also used to study a more realistic evaluation scenario including user mobility, time correlation of fading and soft handoff (SHO) algorithms.
