Abstract

The formation of CO2+ from CO+ via photoionization in the energy range of 25 to 45 eV was studied. The five components of the Rydberg series with an electronically excited 3σ+ core were identified. The photoionization cross section was measured with a vibrationally relaxed CO+ ion beam.
