Abstract

A study was performed to determine the Ultimate Limit State (ULS) performance characteristics of individual piles and pile foundations subjected to hurricane lateral and axial loadings. The study addressed all of the phases in the life-cycle of the piles. The results indicate that in general, there are very large biases in the predicted capacities of piles that support the platforms in the Bay of Campache.
