Abstract

This work characterizes the undergoing conditions of a learning activity to favour the reconstructions of meanings of mathematical knowledges in a particular school situation. The reference practices and the uses related to certain knowledges can be identified by a) the historical development of mathematical knowledge, b) its immersion in the didactic field and c) the characterization of the students' work. Making emphasis in the use of graphs to describe the change and variation, this is situated in the Calculus and the Analysis, integrating epistemological elements to characterize the resulting epistemology from the use of graphs in modeling movement. This epistemology coins graphication-modelation, which points to a "school modeling".
