Abstract

A kinetic study of protoporphyrin IX in mice skin was using photoacoustic spectroscopy was presented. The kinetics of porphyrins induced in mice skin at three different doses of aminolevulinic acid (ALA) was investigated. It was shown that the mechanism of porphyrins production in blood vessels within the skin was detected, which occurred at shorter times than in skin. A phase resolved method was applied to distinguish between the mechanisms. It was confirmed that the production of ALA-induced porphyrins in mice skin occurred within the epidermal layer.
