Abstract

This paper presents the design of an impulsion prosthetic system for a prosthetic foot in which the use of lighter and stronger materials are proposed to make a fundamental geometry for the support and stabilization of the human body. The proposed system consists in a modification of the conceptual design obtained by applying the QFD methodology using numerical data obtained from the analysis of the gait cycle for the design of all pieces in the prosthetic system, adapters, and module templates (impulsion prosthetic system). In order to obtain a specific design for Mexican population, Solidworks ® software is used, acquiring an asymmetric foot anthropometry for an average weight of 90 kg. The dimensions of the prosthetic foot are 26cm feet and 7cm width with an activity level 4 not exceeding 2 kg weight.
