Abstract

In this work a simulation of a 3RPS parallel mechanism design is presented in order to characterize head impact tests. A simulation of a head rear impact is carried out using MD ADAMS® software to validate and characterize the testbed design. The impact in the back area is selected as an example because it represents an event caused during a car accident, in which the greatest impact forces are generated. The results show that the parallel mechanism can generates a large force in the head during the impact, with the problem of exerting a relatively low acceleration in the mobile base of the platform.
