Abstract
Recombinant human Erythropoietin (rhEPO) is produced through DNA recombinant technology in Chinese Hamster Ovary cells. Its quantification during the manufacturing process is usually performed with immunoassay techniques, which is expensive and time consuming. The present study proposes a methodology to quantify rhEPO by reverse phase-ultra performance liquid chromatography (RP-UPLC) in broad media culture and clarified media. The article presents the validation of the method that demonstrates its precision, accuracy and specificity with a CV below of 5%.
