Abstract
In contrast with segmentation of contours, discontinuity-free contours permit integral analysis by structure detection technique. In the case of areas with boundaries this facilitates statistical study of the surface defined by the reconstituted contours. An algorithm is derived which also permits study of linear and circular structures. -R.Hardbottle
