N2 - In this paper, it is proposed a computer-vision system that supports goniometry in the human body in order to provide an alternative digitized tool of a goniometer. The proposed system is based on computer vision algorithms and embedded systems. The device captures an image taken with a camera for Raspberry Pi 3 and it calculates the angle formed between the joints with color segmentation algorithms, contour detection and geometric formulas, in order to display the captured image on an LCD screen for Raspberry Pi 3 and the measured angle. Our algorithm can be considered to be a real-time system since the execution lasts 18.31 ms on average for getting a measure of the arc of movement.
