Abstract

The experimental work aimed at developing two computer programs: one used in the prediction of dimensional changes of the copper strip while it is being cold rolled, and the second to design optimum sequences of rolling, is described. A procedure that allows the simulation and design of rolling sequences based on the dimensions of the initial material, the product to be fabricated, and its appearance is developed. An equation that calculates the formability limited based on the material hardness degree while rolling is also obtained. Finally, it is shown that both computer programs are precise enough and are useful tool in copper strip rolling sequences design.
