Abstract

The training of engineers, including electrical and mechanical engineers, has educational challenges since the school curriculum must be updated both in scientific content and in the development of skills. However, due to the environmental stress that our planet suffers, training in sustainability must also be considered. That is why; the objective of this investigation is to characterize the construction process of a didactic intervention that articulates the learning of science and training in sustainability, making use of Design-Based Research (DBR). The didactic intervention was product of construction, validation and application processes, was reviewed and analyzed by physicists, educational physicists and engineers. Thus, a replicable didactic intervention is designed for other engineering that wishes to incorporate the learning of science articulated with sustainability. It is concluded the systematization for the learning of factual sciences for engineering is pertinent and stimulating, from the perspective of the students, since it is the educational centers that must develop skills to do sustainable science, based on educational research.
