N2 - A new very broadband planar inverted-F antenna (PIFA) operating from 1.64 to 8.62 GHz with S11 < -10 dB is presented. The antenna has a volume of 4 × 2 × 1 cm3 and exhibits adequate radiation characteristics. It has the largest wideband reported for a PIFA-type antenna and can be used for services such as DCS, PCS, LTE, WiMAX, WLAN, and Bluetooth.
