Abstract

N,N-bis(3-nitrobenzylidene)ethylenediamine (1) formed a supramolecule with meso-hydrobenzoin, whereas N,N-bis(4-nitrobenzylidene)ethylenediamine (2) underwent a self-assembling process. The X-ray diffraction analysis showed that C-H⋯O intermolecular contacts play an important role in the building of both structures.
