Adaptive digital filter implementation for image processing

Abstract

Novel adaptive filter solution derived for digital image processing applications. It uses local variance field of distorted image, which permits to bypass a priory knowledge about statistical properties of original image. Adaptive filer derived and presented in this paper shows good noise suppression ability and produces good edge sharpness. Some techniques on the base of rank robust algorithms are presented.
