Abstract
The phylogeny of subtribe Hubbardochloinae is revisited, here with the inclusion of the monotypic
genus Tetrachaete, based on a molecular DNA analysis using ndhA intron, rpl32-trnL, rps16 intron, rps16-
trnK, and ITS markers. Tetrachaete elionuroides is aligned within the Hubbardochloinae and is sister to
Dignathia. The biogeography of the Hubbardochloinae is discussed, its origin likely in Africa or temperate
Asia.
