N2 - A new filter for the enhancement of overlapped spectra is presented. The filter is based upon the Fourier transform of the second derivative of a Gaussian function. The enhancement is determined by three parameters, which can be adjusted in order to obtain the best result. The filter was successfully tested applying to the sum of two Voigt lines, and applied to overlapped lines of the doublet Kα1 and Kα2 present in an experimental spectrum as well.
