Abstract

Process of Cu reduction by hydrogen in erionite (ERI) was studied using N2 adsorption isotherms, XRD, UV-Vis diffuse reflectance spectroscopy, XPS, MAS NMR and EPR methods. Two different sites of Cu(II) ions localized in the erionite matrix were detected by EPR. ERI favors efficient Cu ions reduction with preferred formation of metallic nanoparticles possessing peculiar surface. properties.
