N2 - A checklist based on previously published records and original data is presented for the helminth parasites reported from 33 freshwater fish species from the Lerma-Santiago river basin, west-central Mexico. The checklist contains 43 helminth species, 6 (14%) of which are endemic to the basin. Fourteen of the 43 are allogenic species, mostly Nearctic in origin. Three species are anthropogenically introduced colonizers, of which the Asian fish tapeworm Bothriocephalus acheilognathi is the most widely distributed species in the basin. The checklist includes 75 new host records, and records of 12 localities where no previous surveys had been conducted.
