N2 - A model resulting from principal component analysis and assessment based on surface resonant peak of UV-VIS spectrum to determine the diameter of gold nanoparticles is presented in this paper. Six different diameters were analyzed by using the absorption spectra in the range from 400 nm to 700 nm. Commercial TED-PELLA gold colloid nanoparticles with diameters between 20 nm and 80 nm were measured. Preliminary results suggest the usefulness that this model may have on the characterization of nanostructured materials in colloidal suspension, as well as its application in manufacturing protocols standardization of nanoparticles.
