Resumen

The Ni-Mo system processed through the mechanical alloying (MA) technique has been widely investigated. In this work, partially amorphous phase was obtained after long milling time at the Mo-47 at % Ni composition. DTA analysis reveals the presence of an exothermic event upon heating, which is attributed to crystallization of the amorphous phase. Prolonged milling time has an important effect on the crystallization temperature. DTA results reveal that the peak temperature is shifted to lower temperatures as the milling time is increased, Q values for powders milled in air atmosphere are lower than those calculated from counterparts milled under argon atmosphere.
