Resumen
This article reports the design and implementation of a didactic situation for the study of the concept of function with secondary students (11-13 years), through the modeling of the movement of a person, using the iPad tablet. The purpose was to motivate a discussion about the physical conditions of the model and to recognize the meaning of the variables, to elaborate sketches of graphs and to make interpretations of the movement from graphs. For the development of the situation we used the didactic engineering methodology, which provides references for the didactic design from the epistemological, didactic and cognitive fields. The situation pro-poses to introduce the idea of relationship between variables through the modeling of movement, where the experience of physical activity is a reference for the interpretation and construction of graphs. The implementation of the didactic situation motivated the autonomous work among the students as they used the electronic tablet to validate their graphic predictions and this motivated the discussion inside the team. Students also developed the ability to sketch graphs to represent intensities of movement and deepened the interpretation of the graph by recognizing characteristics such as inclination, increase, decrease, and domain.
