La prevencion quimica del cancer

The aim of this work was to evaluate the concept, present state, and perspectives related to the chemoprevention of cancer. To make such analysis it was considered the mechanisms involved in the process, the characteristics of compounds in order to be included in preclinical and clinical studies, and the present situation of agents such as retinoids, carotenoids, calcium, elagic and fumaric acids, curcumin, and aspirin. The present information suggest that chemoprevention strategy has solid basis for success and this could be observed in a near future.
