N2 - Fecundity of the panamic spidercrab Maiopsis panamensis (Faxon, 1893) was determined based in incidental captures realized in the Gulf of California. There is evidence to suggest that M. panamensis have an annual breeding cycle and that adult females can produce more than one batch of eggs in a breeding cycle. The number of eggs produced per egg batch by M. panamensis range from 351,501 eggs to 1162,668 eggs, with a mean of about 676,039 eggs. Branchial width of carapace is the more useful morphometric measure in the determination of the relation with fecundity in this species.
