Resumen

This study relies on reflective aspects and presents as main objective to decribe the role of two NGOs in the formulation of policies on public transport in Mexico City: the case of Centro Mario Molina and the case of Centro de Transporte Sustentable. From the literature review, were established five categories of analysis for the Centers listed, which are: the organizational structure, the sphere of strategic relationships, roles in the processes of public policy, sources of legitimacy and the level of impact potential public policy: The main findings of the study reveal that the role of the Centres is palpable through specialized studies and research carried out collaboratively with government agencies, which are embodied in government programs and policies environmental issues, such as air quality.
