Resumen

This text analyzes the case of youth in a high school learning program with television support pertaining to an agency in San Pedro el Alto, Oaxaca, Mexico. It explores the youth’s perspective regarding their professional future; their permanence in the community; the company’s management, ruled by customary law (known in Mexico as ‘customs and traditions’); and their motivation to work in the Community Forestry Company, from the perspective of Sociology of education and Critical pedagogy. The data compilation for this explicatory study was conducted via semi-open questionnaires applied to 90 percent of the local youth population. The paper concludes that there are opportunities to refocus the ideology transmitted to youth studying middle higher education through the construction of community spaces where community authorities and youth can exchange points of view as a way of mitigating the perceptions constructed by the school and extending the perceptions of youth.
