Resumen

This paper is a comparative study of the influence of different parameters in abrasive wear in dry and wet conditions of Inconel 600 and stellite. The parameters considered are chemical composition and microstructure characteristics. These alloys are deposited by the shield metal arc welding (SMAW) process, oh ASTM A-36 steel. The abrasion tests were carried out using a dry sand/rubber wheel tribotester and a wet sand/rubber wheel tribotester. Tests were done following ASTM G 65-94 and ASTM G 105-89 standards, respectively. The results showed that the hardness and wear resistance of Inconel 600 and stellite coatings depend on the generated carbides. An austenitic matrix may be used to verify the behaviour of both coatings under dry and wet conditions.
