Resumen

The characterization of feedstocks for sulfur removal processes was analyzed by conventional techniques and comprehensive two-dimensional gas chromatography (GC×GC) coupled to sulfur chemiluminescence detector (SCD). Sulfur compounds were separated according to their boiling point, i.e. their increasing strength of alkyl chain, on the X-axis, and to polarity, ie. their type. It was found that GC×GC-SCD was able to provide accurate data for both detailed identification and quantification of sulfur compounds. They can be an important tool of choice for sulfur speciation of feedstocks of hydrotreatment or hydrocraquing processes.
