N2 - Quinolones or fluoroquinolones are a group of commonly prescribed and broad-spectrum antibiotics drugs that act by inhibiting the enzymes responsible for the bacterial DNA replication, transcription, repair and recombination. The aim of this article is to present a systematic review of the three most representative fluoroquinolones in our country (ciprofloxacin, levofloxacin and moxifloxacin) in their three authorized indications: lower respiratory tract infections, urinary tract infections, skin and soft tissues infections.
