Abstract

Recently conducted studies of the impurity photoconductivity in CdS crystals have made it possible to discover the presence of selective maxima caused by impurity centers in the crystals. However, the nature of these maxima was found to be somewhat different and to be closely related to the presence of an Auger interaction between carriers trapped in adjacent local centers. The primary results of these studies are presented along with the new concepts resulting from them concerning interactions between deep and shallow local centers.
