Abstract

The dependence of thermostimulated currents and of the optical photocurrent quenching spectra on the illumination wavelength in compensated CdS crystal is investigated. These dependences are due to the change of the free electron lifetime with illumination wavelength, which is caused by the Auger interaction of the deep luminescent centres with donor–acceptor (DA) pairs. In the case of this interaction the energy released at carrier recombination connected with DA pairs is transferred to the electron located on the photosensitive centre.
