Abstract

The processes of recombination-stimulated conversion of local centers in CdS:Li crystals were examined. These processes occurred on cooling from 400 to 77 degree K during continuous illumination with light of different wavelengths. Considerable changes in the luminescence and excitation spectra were found. The presence of selective luminescence-excitation maxima indicated clearly that the luminescence centers were many particle complexes. Cooling during illumination resulted in dissociation of complex centers into simpler entities. Models describing the original and new luminescence centers are proposed. It is shown that the reason for the dissociation was the disappearance of the Coulomb attraction between the components of a center.
