Abstract

The implementation of hybrid controllers in power electronics is specially challenging due to the fast processing and measurement requirements of the controller to achieve good performance. In this paper, an advanced hybrid control for a class of rectifiers is developed, which is capable to regulate the output voltage, to control the active/reactive power as well as to control the ripple of the input current. The proposed controller besides of achieving a multi-objective control target, it is implemented through the use of analog circuitry, which reduces the computation burden and the use of complex and expensive devices such as FPGAs and DSPs. The performance evaluation of the proposed controller gives evidence of the suitability of analog circuitry to implement such complex controllers which its digital implementation is usually characterized by multi-period processing and delays.
