Abstract
An electronic circuit design for the automatic detection of photovoltaic generator maximum power (PG) is reported. This circuit is based on the study of the electrical characteristics of a photovoltaic cell (PC) and a photovoltaic module (PM) through mathematical analysis of their electrical characteristics. A technique for the detection of the maximum power, based on the transfer function of the device, is proposed. It is possible to reduce the loss of power by the utilization of a capacitive element in combination with an electronic switch coupled to the PM. The maximum power point of the PM is detected. The proposed electronic circuit optimizes the use of electrical energy supplied by the PM, which improves the efficiency of the photovoltaic system (PS).
