Abstract

In this work, we report the preparation of nano-composite materials such as Pt-YSZ, IrO2-YSZ, and Pt-IrO2-YSZ by metalorganic chemical vapor deposition (MOCVD). The nano-composite materials were considered as electrodes for YSZ electrolytes and their electrochemical properties were examined by impedance spectroscopy. The XRD, TEM and EDS results showed a particle size ranging from 15 to 35 nm and a uniform distribution of the elements in the composites, MOCVD nano-composites show promise as electrodes to YSZ electrolytes.
