Abstract

A study was made of the nature of the 0. 95 mu luminescence band of CdS:Li crystals. studies of the luminescence, thermally stimulated conductivity, and drift of interstitial Li in electric fields demonstrated that the luminescence centers responsible for the 0. 95 mu band were donor-acceptor pairs, each consisting of an r center and an interstitial Li atom. Illumination at temperatures 350-150 degree K dissociated these pairs and this increased the photosensitivity (photochemical sensitization reaction).
