Abstract

This paper, presents the preliminary results obtained from a series of experiments designed with the main objective of familiarizing students of the first years of training in the Electrical Engineering and related areas, with some of the fundamentals of the scattering parameters theory of single and two-port electrical networks. This didactic approach, is based on the realization of a series of laboratory tests oriented to obtain and analyze the temporal behavior manifested by both incident and reflected voltages, which can register simultaneously in each one of the ports of a linear and time invariant (LTI) electrical network, subjected to quasi-stationary sinusoidal excitations of different amplitude and frequency; making use of devices designed and/or adapted by the authors for such purpose, with oscilloscopes and signal generators of general purpose.
