N2 - The technological revolution that has been going on for several years now has granted multiple benefits and amenities to daily human activities. However, several organizations have suffered changes concerning their business requirements, whose have caused their systems and services to migrate towards more complex models. This paper’s purpose is to show the design and implementation processes of an architecture capable of aiding the integration of personal data management systems, by enabling both systems to interoperate. Said architecture determines protocols, models and processes based on design and information system development standards. The research is of a descriptive and experimental nature, given that the regularities in the characteristics of the Personal Information Management Systems (PIMS) are detected and associations are recorded between them. Once the procedures for each of the architecture’s layers were defined, a school administration pilot system was developed in order to show the benefits of this architecture’s application in software development. According to its evaluation team, constituted in 20% by teachers and administrative personnel, 65% students and 8% system engineers and professionists, there are no mayor hindrances in technological nor computer tools matter for the implementation of said architecture, being the organizational focus the most restrictive factor that has been identified.
