Abstract

The present handbook contains a single procedure of calculating heat transfer and aerodynamic resistance of convective heating surfaces fabricated in the form of tube bundles with transverse circular, square, and helical fins. The procedure is based on results of extensive experimental studies conducted at the Department of Nuclear Power Plants and Engineering Thermal Physics of the National Technical University of Ukraine, Kiev Polytechnic Institute [1e3] in collaboration with researchers of Superior School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, Thermal Engineering and Applied Hydraulic Laboratory of the National Polytechnic Institute in México. This procedure has been put through a thorough evaluation at leading scientific research and design organizations in Ukraine and Russia, and it has been recognized as the most accurate and universal in comparison with other methods used for thermal and aerodynamic calculations [4e6]. Based on that, it has been included in the currently operative normative materials of Ukraine and Russia.
