Experimental observation of ring dark spatial solitons

Abstract

Ring dark solitons were experimentally generated using a phase disk or an opaque ring. The nonlinear material was a solution of methilen blue in isopropyl alcohol with an optical density of 18 for a wavelength of 514 nm.
