N2 - In this work a methodology for the stabilization and control of processes with large time-delay is proposed. This methodology considers a digital controller with two degrees of freedom, which is tuned via the polynomial approach. The proposed digital controller is able to deal with linear time invariant systems, delayed input/output systems i.e., stable, unstable and integrating delayed processes. The problems of step reference tracking and step disturbance rejection are also addressed. Finally, numerical simulations are used for illustrating the performance of the proposed control strategy in comparison with recent proposals in literature.
