N2 - The use of biostimulants obtained from mix of compounds and/or organisms constitutes a promising tool that increases the efficient approach of nutrients and plants tolerance under stress conditions. Seaweeds are an important sustainable marine source and extracts from them have been applied as plant biostimulants. In this work, the effect of Lens esculenta seeds imbibition with aqueous extracts from two seaweeds as biostimulants of the seedlings growth of this plant was analyzed. It was shown a notably hormetic effect that induced the promotion of the L. esculenta seedlings growth, when it was exposed to different concentrations of aqueous extracts of Sargassum vulgare (5%) and Ulva fasciata (5% and 10%). It was showed that the use of the lowest aqueous extract concentration at early imbibition of seeds is a potential biostimulant for the promotion of plantlets growth, favoring their adaptation under stress condition.
